Talking Cafés across Nelson Tasman are about meeting people and learning more about your community. Everyone is welcome. No need to register. Just turn up!

Volunteer Nelson has made some changes to the Wellby Talking Cafes from June 2026 onwards. There will no longer be a Halifax cafe and the Cafes in Richmond and Stoke will change to the 4th Wednesday of the month.

Please check the Wellby facebook page or this website for updates on the monthly cafes.

  • Pop in for a quick chat or stay for a longer conversation with friendly hosts.

  • Learn about the vast array of organisations, groups and support available in your area.

  • No need to register, just turn up on the day. Tea and coffee provided (depending on venue).

  • Talking Cafés are held in a number of locations, right across the Nelson Tasman region.

  • It’s a great chance to talk face-to-face with people and find out what they’re looking for.

  • Everyone is welcome, and the cafes provide a great opportunity for making connections.
